Showing the player how to get from point A to B via roads using each junction on the road as a Node. But what uses does pathfinding have? Pathfinding has many uses, for example, Grand theft auto 5 uses it for the cars navigation system on the mini map. If you've ever played a game with a moving enemy, it probably moved using pathfinding, whether it just moves in a straight line toward the player like SlenderTubbies, or runs across an entire 3D terrain to get from A to B like in Skyrim, it would've used some form of Pathfinding algorithm.
